A Man, A Rake And A Beach

image

When man can make nature more beautiful and stunning than it already is, this has to be shared!  Stunning art works by Andre Amador, knowing that they will not remain and are ever changing with every tide that comes in.

I cannot even describe how I felt when I first saw a glimpse of these mind blowing pictures,  all I know that these are special, very special!

Have a peaceful day and if life gets hectic take your mind to these beaches and explore these visions of sand and the sounds of the sea, they are sure to calm you down

Amazing Frozen Falls

image

It has always been a dream of mine to see the Niagara Falls and I hope to make it there someday. But when I saw pictures of the falls today I was absolutely astounded even more by its beauty as the icy polar vortex has had effect.

image

Frozen shards of ice layer upon one another, that normally free flow into one another to create one of the ultimate waterfalls on this earth!

I just had to share these pictures with you all, some of you may have seen them already but I had to record it!

A quick note to all our American and Canadian friends please be careful in these very cold conditions and take care!

Gooey Chocolate Meringues & Glitter Manicure!

image

I’ve never attempted meringues but had some left over egg whites so I couldn’t resist! I wanted them to remain sticky and gooey! Which I think I have achieved! Yay!

In my recipe I have lessened the amount of sugar as it is replaced with some sweetness from the milk chocolate!

image

The cocoa gives it a sense of maltiness when combined with the cooked egg whites! A real sweet treat to end your meal on a sugaring high!

For my first attempt they were lovely in texture and flavour! Though I feel I need to shape them better next time. More varieties will make an appearance I’m sure!

INGREDIENTS

90-100g caster sugar
5 medium egg whites
pinch of salt
50mg grated milk chocolate
½ tbsp cocoa powder

METHOD

• Preheat oven to 140 degrees celsius and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper

• Whisk egg whites in a large mixing bowl either with an electric whisk or by hand
until the egg whites turn into stiff peaks

• Slowly add the sugar a tablespoon at a time and whisk gently

• Fold in the cocoa powder and grated chocolate

• Using a metal spoon dollop to a rough round on to the baking tray. Working quickly as not to lose the air that has been built up in the meringue mixture

image

• Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, the outside shell will be crisp. Turn off the oven and leave them in the oven with it ajar to cool

I woke up really really early this morning and decided to do my weekly manicure. I had to add glitter because of the christmas feel and seeing golden baubles everywhere! So now my nails are sporting the festive look!

A hidden talent!

image

I haven’t yet disclosed my other favourite past time that manages to chill me out and gives me a little me time!

I’ve always have loved having my nails painted. My very first memory of purchasing a dusky pink peel off nail polish from a toy shop still resides very strongly in my mind. The smell of it too! And a very nice memory of the teenage boy who used serve me! Who I thought I was going to marry one day! Lol 😉

I can’t believe I found this picture! 🙂

It’s so nice to start off with a blank canvas and by the end you have these amazing jewelled fingers to show off!

Ok so when I’m not cooking, baking, cleaning and looking after my children which is nearly always…you’ll find me on the sofa when the boys are napping, eagarly making my hands pretty!

Do come join me next time? And also let me know some of your hidden talents x
